In the opening lesson of our Fairy Tale unit the children will be introduced to the idea of lies and truth by reading the book Ruthie and the Not So Teeny Lie. This will be an essential foundation for their later exploration of honesty in fairy tales. For Pre-K students to understand what honesty means, they must first understand what a lie is , what the truth is and the contrast between those two concepts. The goal of this lesson is that students will begin to build an understanding of what honesty is by defining and contrasting the truth with lies and that a lie is something that is false, not true and made up.
