The Pre-K children returned from the winter break with renewed enthusiasm. As they changed the calendar to reflect the arrival of 2013, the children used a 2012 calendar to review and count the months in an entire year. The children shared their hopes and dreams for what they would like to learn to do in the New Year. This week the Pre-K classes had special assembly by the Franklin Institute. They had the chance to talk about structures and what materials that building are made out of. Using the book, “The Three Little Pigs” the children had the chance to do experiments to see what materials where strong enough not to get blown down from the big bad wolfs “sneeze”. Then they had the opportunity to building their own structures out of paper cups to see if they could with stand the wind from the wolf.
